Job screening coming up? The key fact: standard 5-panel drug tests do not detect kratom — but specialized tests can. Details matter here.
Standard panels: you’re clear
The common SAMHSA 5-panel (THC, cocaine, opiates, amphetamines, PCP) doesn’t screen for mitragynine. Most pre-employment tests never see kratom.
Kratom-specific tests exist
10-panel-plus and specialty labs can test for mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine in urine for roughly 5–7 days after use (longer with heavy use). Probation, military, and DOT-style programs are the realistic risk zones.
Detection windows (approximate)
Urine: up to ~7 days. Blood: ~24 hours. Hair: up to 90 days in theory. These vary with dose, frequency, and metabolism — treat any numbers as rough.
What to do
If testing is possible, the only safe move is abstaining well in advance — a good moment for a tolerance reset (see our guides). And always buy clean, tested product like our lab-verified lineup — adulterants, not kratom, cause most surprise failures. More in the FAQ hub.
