Short answer: TSA isn’t looking for kratom, but possession must be legal at both your origin and destination — and internationally, many countries ban it outright. When in doubt, don’t fly with it.
Domestic US flights
- TSA screens for threats, not botanicals — but anything suspicious gets referred to local law enforcement
- Capsules (sealed bottles) travel most discreetly; powders can look suspicious on scanners
- Keep products sealed, labeled, in original packaging
- Verify legality at your destination first
International: just don’t
Kratom is illegal in many countries (including parts of Asia, Europe and Australia) with severe penalties. Never cross borders with it.
