Holiday coming up? Here’s the straight answer: the TSA doesn’t specifically ban kratom, but flying with it is still risky — because your destination might.
What the TSA says
TSA screens for security threats, not drugs — but anything suspicious gets referred to local law enforcement. Kratom powder in an unmarked bag looks exactly like something worse. If you fly with it, keep it sealed in original labeled packaging.
Destination laws matter more
Kratom is banned in several states (Alabama, Arkansas, Indiana, Rhode Island, Vermont, Wisconsin) and many countries — including outright bans across much of Asia and Europe. Never fly internationally with kratom without checking embassy guidance.
Smarter travel options
Many travelers switch to discreet, clearly labeled formats: capsules or gummy bites in sealed packaging draw far less attention than loose powder. Or simply order ahead to your destination where legal — our best sellers ship nationwide.
The safe rule
Domestic + legal origin + legal destination + sealed labeled product = lowest risk. Anything else? Leave it home. More answers in our FAQ hub.
